Prairie Evers is a person lots of people can identify with. She is fun, she is gutsy, she is independent, and she is a kind and wise soul. Prairie knows what friendship is all about, what love of family is all about and how to learn from life's lessons. My 10 year old and 6 year old were immersed in the story and continually were wondering what was going to happen next to Prairie. My 10 year old particularly connected with the characters, as he was also moving to a new school at the time. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys young-adult fiction. It should be a required read in elementary school as many students are faced with the same issues as the heroine. I'll enjoy re-reading this again soon, and so will my children. |
