The plastic mixer thing seemed to be a better idea than a metal ball thing that can rust if it is not dried. I am a man and I am not about to dry a metal ball after every uses. NOT happening. So the plastic is awesome so far. I have used it everyday for a week. It shakes up good. Put water in first and then powder. Shake hard for 30 second or so and good to go. It's very easy to clean this way as well, and doesn't smell. The nozzle (mouth opening) is the perfect size for drinking on the go and doesn't spill. The handle allows you to hold the bottle easily without opening the lid. It's also separated from the lid so there's very little chance shifting the handle can open the lid. Very well designed. I have no complaints. The plastic feels flimsy and really REALLY retains smells, and the lids aren't very sturdy. This thing fixes all those problems: sturdy plastic, very secure top (although it's a bit more difficult to close than a Blender Bottle) and it mixes stuff just as well. Best part: it hasn't retained any smells! I've used one I got for free from GNC three times for my 3 milks + casein night shake and simply rinsed it out after use. Blender Bottle would've smelled like a rotten dairy farm the next morning, this thing had no signs of having been used the night before from a simple hot water rinse out.
