5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well., March 12, 2011

The tips get very very cold. I am a MD and used this to treat my warts by myself. After 2 treatments, my warts were gone. Hurts like crazy as I froze the warts for about 1-1.5 minutes each, but it worked VERY well. Don't believe the negative reviews. This uses the same technology that you would get from a Dermatologist, and for me it costs less than one co-pay at a doctor's office. Dermatologists will minimally treat your warts so you have to keep coming back to see them. Plus, if a patient get a large blister from a treatment (which you should get if done properly), most people would bitch and moan that their doctor caused harm. When in actuality, you have to freeze all the surrounding tissue to effectively kill the warts as well, and this WILL cause a localized blister. I caused two blisters over each wart, and I had them gone in two weeks. I would have easily spent a couple hundred dollars in co-pays had I seen a Dermatologist.

Don't listen to the reviews, this product works GREAT! But, if you expect a wart removal to be painless, you have another thing coming. This is basically the same thing as having your doctor do it, but way cheaper than a doctor visit.

But, it's got to hurt a little. So, follow the instructions and don't be afraid to exaggerate the timing a bit.

Like, when it says four seconds of freeze preparation, do four long drawn out seconds. And, if you feel like you really didn't "bring the pain" on the wart as it were, use a second application to finish the job. Yes, the second application does hurt, but the more beating you deliver, the more likely the wart will be gone.

In short it works, just don't be a baby about it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Do it yourself, January 15, 2012
This review is from: Compound W Freeze Off Plantar 8 applications kit (Health and Beauty)
Going to a dermatologist will cost you. You can accomplish the same result with this. If you have a deep plantar wart the trick is to freeze and re-freeze until you break through the thick layers of skin of the foot. You can discount the negative reviews, this thing is not a laser beam. All it does is freeze skin, and that is all a doctor is going to do.

After a few days you peel away dead skin, and then hit the same spot again. Try to take as much pain as you possibly can - hold the tip there firmly for as long as you can take it. If you really want to finish the job, you dab it with the Compound W liquid wart remover right after you freeze, and then put on the sticky pad. It may seem like overkill using three products at once, but the goal is to get back on your foot and back to normal activity as soon as possible.

Once you you've gotten through the skin, continue to freeze the same spot and surrounding area, for one or two week s more. Buy additional cans as you will probably run out before finished. The additional freezing may prolong your discomfort, but in the end you are doing yourself a favor by not fighting traffic to a dermatologist twice per week.

You will endure the same pain and discomfort through seeing a doctor for this, along with wait times in the lobby, you will definitely spend more time overall to kill the virus. The procedure can be self managed at home with persistence and common sense.
