| 41 of 41 people found the following review helpful  Best sliders we have found for chairs on hard floors, By My wife and I had issues with chairs marking up both our hardwood floors and also our tiled kitchen/morning room floor. These are the best solution we found after trying several brands and several styles for chairs on hardwood and tile floors. 0 The kind that stick on with adhesive inevitable fall off and need to be replaced. The cloth and felt kinds would slide OK on the floors, but would sometimes catch in tile grooves and would also collect dirt and hair like crazy. The small rounded hard plastic style (that style is better for chair legs which are at an angle) also caught in our grout 'grooves'. And frankly, the SuperSlider brand and some others we tried (I want to say Moving Men or something?) were noisier and not as smooth. Over the course of two years in use, I noted our Magic Sliders did seem a bit less rounded, as the rubberized cushion in them started to get mashed down. I do think I may need to replace these at some point - but it has not been necessary yet. So this style, which screws on, and slides smoothly, didn't mark up our floors, stayed on, and we believe are best for wood laminate, tile, or hardwood floors. 22 of 24 people found the following review helpful  Great on hard floors. If you want Magic Sliders to use on carpet, then I recommend that you get Magic Slider 4301 Furniture Glides instead of these. I was looking for Sliders to use on carpet and bought these. These are great on hard surfaces (fine in our kitchen, for example) but the relatively narrow design makes them dig into a carpet, so they don't glide. 0 The 4301 model, which I tried after these failed, have a nice flat disk that glides beautifully over carpet. So buy the 4301's for carpet, and save these for hard floors. I'm mentioning this because none of the reviews to date of this product discussed performance on carpet, and that might be important to other purchasers as well as me. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful great product, Have oak chairs on ceramic tile floors. Originally chairs made horrible noise when slid. Applied Magic Sliders 20mm with screw. Now chairs slide smoothly and quietly. Screw holds them securely in place. They do wear out after about 2 years or so and need to be replaced. But a small price to pay for peace and quiet. Am ordering more today on Amazon. Magic Sliders web says they are avaliable at all Home Depot stores. Went to one in Tulsa. They did not have them. But did have a large quantity of another brand. This other brand package did not say if they were safe for ceramic. So did not buy them. Am sticking with Magic Sliders because I have used them for 5 1/2 years, know they work, and know they are safe for ceramic. A great product! 0 |
