We use it on car rides, plane rides, for middle of the night feedings (just pop it in his mouth and I go back to bed), on long walks in the stroller, or when I'm baby wearing my little one in the store and he gets hungry-- I just pop the podee in his mouth and keep it moving. Essentially, it comes in handy any time baby is ready to eat at an inconvenient time for you. 0 It's a little hard to get started at first, so I just suck the formula into the nipple to get it started and then give it to baby. He loves it. And I'm able to get more rest at night. It is true that baby will sometimes pull it out of his mouth via the tubes, but generally if he does that, he's not really hungry. The majority of the time, if he's really hungry and not just playing around, he keeps it in just fine. (I think he just gets a kick out of me having to keep putting it back in his mouth, personally). My baby is four months and starting to u se his hands now more and actually holds it in his mouth himself most of the time-- not that it's necessary. My only problem with this bottle is that it is almost TOO convenient. I was breastfeeding primarily and substituting with formula only occasionally. But because the Podee was so convenient, I grew to rely on it more and more. Great news is I was able to get so much more done. Bad news was my milk supply decreased. Been using them since my baby was two months. This is my go-to gift now for all my pregnant friends. Also bought them for my friend who just had twins. I can't believe these things are not flying off the shelves. Every time I go somewhere and baby's sucking on his Podee I get stopped in the store by people telling me, "That's so cool-- I've never seen anything like it!" Only downsides are: pain in the rear to clean, with all the parts, and the numbers that show you the ounces rubs off REALLY easily. Ours are completely gone. Do NOT put the tubes in the dishwasher. I made that mistake and now I'm back here buying more! 30 of 39 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Podee Double Pack Feeding System (Baby Product) We bought a set of Podee system because of the positive reviews. So far we have tried it a few times, and the results are uneven. A couple of times the baby hang on to the nipple and ate 3-4 oz without any fuss. Most of the time, however, it got spitted out constantly. Our twins are two months old. I think when they are a little older the system will be much more useful. 0 One problem with the system is that it leaks. First of all, if you shake it to mix formula you will get some leak. But this is a minor problem. It also leaks between the ring and the adapter when the babies suck the nipple, a far more annoying problem. We tried to different ways and tightness to screw on the adapter, and the problem persisted. Now we do find an interesting solution to the leak problem. We have some 4 oz Dr. Brown bottles, which are extremely nice. We also have some cheaper Evenflo 8 oz bottles. The Evenflo bottles also leak like hell, and the nipp les suck (forgiving me for the pun). However, the Dr. Brown system fits Evenflo bottles perfectly, and it doesn't leak. So this is a great deal, as Evenflo bottles are much cheaper than Dr. Brown bottles. But there is something even better: The Evenflo cap ring, even though it leaks on its own bottle, does not leak on the Podee system! It screws on the Podee bottle perfectly, and fits the adapter flawlessly. You can shake the bottle to mix formula without having to worry about leaks. The Evenflo bottle comes with an additional cap to be placed on the nipple, which also serve perfectly as a nipple holder for the Podee system (you want this unless you prefer the nipple to dangle around and drip milk/formula everywhere). 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Podee Double Pack Feeding System (Baby Product) Perfect for on the go feedings. I breast feed all O'd my Children use the Podee when on the go and cannot nurse. Perfect for travel, Disney, Zoo, parks etc. Over Thanksgiving we had a few long drives. I attached the Podee bottle to my Medela pump and then gave the bottle to our son all without having to stop the car. (yes i pumped right in the front seat) We have used the Podee feeding system with all 5 of our children and can't say enough about how handy they are. Our 2nd child was not a fan of the nipple included so we swapped out for a NUK nipple and she's was fine. While there are parts to keep track of they are not hard to clean and a handy brush is included for the tubing, I also give this as a gift to friends expecting twins and they are loved by Mom's of multiples as well. I do not think a bottle should be propped, babies need love and snuggling while feeding, BUT sometimes you jut don't have enough hands. Bottom line, I found if I couldn't , like while driving, I couldm't give a bottle to my baby and the Podee is a perfect solution for that situation. 0 |
